“Karla Wong: Journeys of Being” is on view September 3. Wong’s large-scale oil paintings are a love letter to her Mexican culture. They are interwoven with her life experiences as a trans woman, a person of Mexican and Chinese heritage, and of the journeys between her homes in the United States and Oaxaca.
On Thursday, September 17, 5–8 PM, the museum will host a FREE opening reception with the artist and a special performance by Geo Meneses.
